Another favourite thread from the supporters era.
Last night I went to see Zeni Geva in Bristol. They were as impressive as they were the first time I saw them about 14 years ago. The first support, Anta, were also really good! And the second support was Zeni Geva's drummer doing his thing!
Prior to that I went to the Supersonic Festival in Birmingham, but only for the Saturday night. Godflesh were awesome! Apart from them the best act was an industrial/dub band called King Midas Sound.
So, what was your last gig?
(I'm going to guess a lot of the responses will be EN related...)

I've just been to see some German dudes called Eisenstein Neusbaten, or something like that.
2 nights in Berlin - absolutely amazing.
Next I'm looking forward to Godspeed You Black Emperor in December!
swans @koko. shite venue, but great gig
I went to UNSOUND Festival in Krakow- 10h drive only to see LUSTMORD:)Despite of crap venue and crap festival organization Mr. BW was amazing seeding the seeds of doom and gloom:) Truly amazing in person.
Apparently Brian Eno himself appeared for the event.
I might be wrong but I think I saw Alan ( and his Lady) of Parking Non Stop at the gig:) ( not to mention few other faces familiar from EN Phases:)))
The line up of that festival is getting better and better every year but the promoters are so unprofessional, geezas fuck- who let them do it????
PS
I left GOBLIN gig after 3 or 4 tracks - it was just too bad prog-rock even for my tolerant ears.
Yes, we were indeed also at UNSOUND... what a great festival! The Lustmord gig was fantastic - I last saw him live 29 years age in a small bar, so the contrast was pretty startling!
Had a feeling I spotted you at one point, and after getting home saw your photos with this interview:
http://musicnews.pl/artykuly,lustmord-wywiad,132.html
and realised that you had been there
...shame not to have met up properly!
...and we also left Goblin after 3 or 4 tracks for the same reasons!
"Zaphod's Gun" which is the band of my girlfriend. Antifolk, Grunge, Folk, whatever. There's only one song online, they only exist for two months now, but who else can cover Grand Lee Buffalo and Neil Young in one concert and play bluesharp on both songs? On MySpace!
Ok - that was some promotion, the last gig was Neubauten in Berlin, both nights. Nice meetings with Mark both evenings included.
Before that, I went to see Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub in Weinheim, Germany - as always, great show. They played a very slow version of "Deep in Velvet", which almost made me cry. And Boa is certainly on the same level as Blixa in terms of coolness in suits... :-)
I think you've spotted my GRUNDSTUCK top when I came upstairs to meet some of my friends- you sat just behind them:) At some point I realized it could be you. After Lustmord we sat upstairs again but you were with a bunch of Brits ( I guess) and I was just too shy to disturb you and your company:)The following day we saw you, Zoe and Brian in Kazimierz-Krakow is so small;)) it's a funny story will write you PM hehe:)Did you make it to Manggha Japanese Centre?
I hope to see you next year:)
Btw- I've got Ulver, Swans, Laibach,Napal Death, Neurosis and Cathedral lined up- anyone going?:) ( Graeme- fancy a quick drink before Neurosis?:)
@agni: you coming to the london gig? if so, would love to have a drink or two :)
-------------------------------------------
last night i went to the "ship of fools" @bar & co at temple -> river boat on the thames... to watch tony wakeford and friends. three sets of pure and unadulterated bliss. some really old tracks (20+ years) and some new material. what a beautiful evening
yeap! Im landing in London on the 3rd of Dec:)))would you bother to go to Neurosis?:)
Last night in New Orleans, the Dresden Dolls. They went on too damned late though, so we didn't stay for the whole show. I am too old for that shit.
Grinderman last night!
:D
Saw them last night, what a blast, will remember it for a long time...
TIM HECKER + Family Battle Snake + Cam Deas. wonderful night.
@lau:- i hear the swans broke the sound system :)
Graeme- talking about breaking things- I almost broke my left elbow and had to cancel trip to London- crap:( I will see you next time when the ice age is over;)

i highly approve
!Gods-peed! !You! !Black! !Emperor! @ the troxy in London on Monday.
Graeme- how was it? I'm considering trip to Poznan to see them ( maybe):) Going to TROUM next week
go see them, very powerful gig!
SWANS + THE NECKS
Fonkin' phenomenal!!!!
It was the first ever tour down under for Swans - after the gig Michael Gira signed books, posters, etc, at the merchandise stand, and was more than happy to spend his time chatting with all the punters who rocked up to the merchandise stand.
The Necks were also fantastic - every gig they play, they manage to come up with a completely new musical creation. They're extremely talented musos - I can highly recommend them!!!
Ulver & Virus @ KOKO London
ulver came on and said "tonight we are making music for aliens" :)
The Swans - Melbourne simply awesome .
